R&B - Bonus Track [Feat. 한경록 Of 크라잉넛, 이주현 Of 갤럭시 익스프레스, 권정열 Of 십센치, 압둘라 나잠 Of 술탄 오브 더 디스코] 신파와 열정의 느와르 마초 얼터너티브 라틴 밴드 '불나방 스타 쏘세지 클럽'이 마지막 앨범 ‘석연치 않은 결말’을 발매한다. 불나방 스타 쏘세지 클럽은 장기하와 얼굴들, 아마도 이자람 밴드 등이 소속된 인디레이블 붕가붕가레코드 소속으로 2009년 독특한 세계관과 탄탄한 음악적 완성도를 드러낸 정규 1집 '고질적 신파'를 발매한 이후 자취하는 여대생을 중심으로 인디 음악 씬에서 탄탄한 팬 층을 확보한 밴드. 이번 음반은 2000년부터 시작되어 2009년 정점에 이르렀던 불나방 스타 쏘세지 클럽의 활동에 종지부를 찍는 작품이다. 리더인 조 까를로스에 의하면 1집 발매 당시 ‘고질적 뮤지션의 길’ 선언을 통해 밝혔던 것처럼 이 음반을 끝으로 은퇴할 바 있었으나, 막상 은퇴하려고 보니 만들어 놓은 노래 중에 썩혀두기 아까운 것들이 있어 1집의 확장판 개념으로 이번 음반을 내게 되었다고 한다. 이번 음반은 총 4곡이 수록된 미니 앨범이다. 유머와 신파를 능수능란하게 넘나 들었던 이전 노래들에 비하면 주로 신파 쪽의 정서가 강조된 편. 4년에 걸쳐 만들었다는 타이틀곡 ‘인간대포쇼’를 비롯하여 1집 수록곡 ‘마도로스 K의 모험’의 후속곡 ‘마도로스 K의 모험 II’, 불나방 스타 쏘세지 클럽 특유의 얼터너티브 라틴 음악의 완성형인 ‘뛰뛰빵빵’, 보너스 트랙으로는 크라잉넛, 갤럭시 익스프레스, 십센치, 술탄 오브 더 디스코 등의 멤버들이 피처링으로 참여한 ‘R&B’ 등이 삽입되었다. 9월 8일(수) 전국 음반 매장과 주요 음원 사이트에서 발매된다. 문의는 붕가붕가레코드(070-8862-7686) 신파와 열정의 느와르 마초 얼터너터브 라틴 밴드 불나방스타쏘세지클럽 불나방 스타 쏘세지 클럽은 나약한 사나이들의 식어버린 청춘과 그로 인한 궁상에 치를 떨던 아티스트 조까를로스(노래, 기타)를 구심점으로 그의 의지에 동의하는 여러 음악인이 모여 있는 정열의 느와르 마초 밴드이다. 2005년 만들어져 여러 번 멤버의 순환을 겪은 끝에 현재는 조까를로스를 비롯 유미(타악기, 드럼), 후르츠김(멜로디언, 건반), 까르푸황(베이스), 김간지(타악기, 드럼,랩)의 멤버로 구성되어 있다. 야매 라틴 혹은 얼터너티브 라틴 음악을 근간으로 하는 그들의 음악은 현재는 “더 이상 라틴 음악이 아닌 것 같다”는 조까를로스의 선언에 의해 변화의 시기에 놓여 있지만, 인생을 관통하는 기승전결 확실한 이야기에 광폭하게 강렬하면서 동시에 처연할 정도로 구슬픈 모순적인 정서는 혼자 사는 여성 자취생을 중심으로 하는 관객층에 어필, 독립음악계에서는 상당한 지지를 얻고 있다. 하지만 유명해지면 재미없어진다고 생각하는 조까를로스 이하 멤버들의 고질적인 심드렁함 탓에 널리 알려지지는 못했다. 하지만 어쨌든 악어는 죽어서 가죽을, 마초는 죽어서 콧수염을 남기는 것에 깨달음을 얻게 되어 자신도 뭔가를 남겨야 하겠다는 조까를로스의 의지에 의해 독립음반제작사 붕가붕가레코드와 손을 잡고 2009년 1월에 EP 《악어떼》, 같은 해 6월에 첫 정규 음반 《고질적 신파》를 발매했다. 이후 지산 벨리 록 페스티벌, 쌈지 싸운드 페스티벌, 그랜드 민트 페스티벌 등 각종 대형 페스티벌을 비롯하여 KBS 2TV ‘유희열의 스케치북’ 등의 방송에 출연하는 등 독특한 세계관과 탄탄한 음악적 완성도로 대중적인 호응을 얻으며 활동을 이어갔다. 그리고, 1집 발매 당시에 ‘고질적 뮤지션의 길’이라는 제목으로 발표했던 계획에 따라 2010년 9월, 미니 앨범 《석연치 않은 결말》을 마지막으로 은퇴 절차를 밟게 되었다 |
