짙은이 새 앨범 ‘diaspora : 흩어진 사람들’로 돌아왔다. 지난 2012년 ‘백야’ 이후 2년 만의 신보다. 결코 짧지만은 않은 시간, 짙은은 EBS 라디오 ‘단편소설관’의 DJ를 비롯한 각종 라디오 프로그램으로 청취자들을 만나는 한편 드라마 ‘태양은 가득히’ OST로 ‘고래’를 수록하였으며 Juuno와 루시아(심규선) 등 동료뮤지션과의 콜라보레이션, 단독콘서트와 페스티벌 연속 매진 등 다방면에서 활발한 활동을 펼쳐 왔다. 이러한 활동을 통해 ‘백야’, ‘December’ 등 특유의 진한 감성을 담은 곡들은 팬들과 평단을 넘어 대중들에게 점차 널리 알려졌고, 새 음악을 기다리는 갈증 또한 깊어져만 갔다. 그리고 마침내 찾아온 새 앨범에서 그는 한층 더 깊고 진한 울림으로 무장, ‘한국 모던록의 뉴웨이브’라는 찬사를 다시금 되새기며 오직 ‘짙은’이기에 가능한 새로운 음악적 지평을 선보인다. 2014년 발매될 연작 프로젝트의 시작을 알리는 이번 EP ‘diaspora : 흩어진 사람들’은 그 부제에서 엿볼 수 있듯 정치적, 경제적, 정서적 이유로 정착하지 못한 채 이곳 저곳으로 흩어진 사람들에 대한 이야기이다. 강제 이주자나 망명생활을 하던 유대인들을 가리키는 용어 ‘diaspora’는 인간적인 가치가 완전히 박탈당했거나 추방되었음에도 불구하고 추방된 줄 모르고 계속 삶을 이어나갈 수밖에 없는 사람들, 혹은 마음 붙일 곳을 잃고 정처 없이 떠도는 모든 이들을 포괄하는 뜻으로 확대되고 있다. 급변하는 시대 속에서 사람들의 몸은 이 곳에 있지만 마음은 부유하고, 마음은 그 곳에 있으나 몸은 정착하지 못한다. 그리고 이러한 흩어짐의 과정 속에서 짙은은 사람들에게 질문을 던진다. 과연 그 여정은 스스로 떠나는 것인가, 타의에 의해 내몰리는 것인가.

앨범은 끊임없이 질문의 과정을 반복한다. 그 질문은 때로는 강인하고, 때로는 연약한 ‘인간’의 존재를 닮았다. 전작에 비해 조금 투박해진 앨범의 정서는 거친 남성미와 섬세한 여성미의 사이에서 양쪽 모두를 강한 흡인력으로 빨아들인다. 오랜 앨범 작업을 거치는 동안 가사는 더욱 진지해졌고, 멜로디는 세련되어졌으며, 사운드는 한층 웅장해졌다. 어느 하나 특별할 것 없는 단어들은 짙은의 노랫말 속에서 유기적으로 엮여 하나의 작품으로 탄생했다. 장중한 사운드는 노랫말에 더욱 힘을 싣는다. 갈 곳 없이 떠도는 이들의 고독한 내면을 투영한 5개의 트랙은 결코 바로 오늘을 살아가는 ‘나’의 이야기와 결코 다르지 않다. 자발적 떠남과 타의적 추방, 살아가면서 한 번쯤 서성이게 되는 그 경계의 어디쯤. 그 곳에 섰을 때, 당신은 어떤 선택을 내릴 것인가. 어디로 가야 할 지 모르는 채 허공을 맴도는 새들의 날갯짓처럼, 목적지를 상실한 ‘diaspora : 흩어진 사람들’의 여정! 해답을 향한 짙은의 항해는 이미 시작되었다.

1. 망명
앨범의 포문을 여는 ‘망명’은 첼로와 바이올린, 비올라 등 현악기의 묵직한 사운드를 통해 전반적인 앨범의 분위기를 가장 극명하게 드러낸다. 짙은은 ‘차갑게 얼어붙은 땅 위에서 발을 붙이지 못하고 떨어져 나가는 모습’을 그렸다고 전했다. 자칫 나약해 보일 수 있으나 사실은 강한 정신력을 바탕으로 한 자발적 승리를 노래한 곡. 밀어내기 때문에 밀려나는 것이 아니라 남아있는 것들로부터 내가 떠났기 때문에 더욱 자유롭고 초월적인 것, 그것은 사회적 관계나 개인적 관계 모두를 막론하고 어디에서나 마찬가지이다. 거친 폭풍우가 휘몰아치는 파도 속에서도 끈질기게 앞으로 나아가는 배의 돛 혹은 앞머리를 연상시키는, 한 편의 영화 같은 노래.

2. 안개
어쿠스틱 기타와 함께 조금 낭만적인 도피가 그려진다. 버티고 부딪히는 일이 언제나 최선이라고 할 수는 없는 법. 경계에 다다라 안개가 자욱하게 짙어졌을 때, 그 때가 바로 절호의 기회이다. 은밀한 소풍을 떠나는 것만 같은 기묘한 정취가 부드러운 발걸음과 만나 한층 낭만을 더한다.

3. Try
때로는 버겁더라도 끊임없이 옭아매는 절대적인 힘과 억압에 굴하지 않고 우리는 각자의 삶을 위해, 그리고 모두를 위해 우리를 존재케 하는 어떤 것을 찾아 나서야만 한다. 그것은 정신적인 가치가 될 수도 있고, 물질적인 가치가 될 수도 있다. 정체는 알 수 없지만 확연히 존재하는 것. 험난함이 절로 그려지는 항해의 출정가 같은 곡이다. 곡의 웅장한 스케일을 구현해내기 위해 앨범 준비 기간 중 가장 오랜 시간을 들여 작업하는 심혈을 기울였다.

4. 해바라기
떠나게 되는 것은, 떠남을 결심하게 되는 것은 ‘외면’에서 기인한다. 조건 없는 희생은 아름다울 수 있으나 스며드는 외로움만큼은 어찌할 방도가 없다. 아직은 떠나지 못한 채 끊임없이 상대를 향한 갈망하는 처연함이 담긴 노래. 애수 어린 노랫말과 멜로디는 노을 지는 저녁 하늘을 연상시킨다. 상처 입은 이의 깊은 상념을 담은 록발라드 곡으로, 들을수록 가슴이 아련해진다.

5. Hero
내가 살던 이 세상이, 그 동안 보고 믿어왔던 세계가 아니었음을 깨달았을 때 두려움은 해일처럼 밀려들었다. 그러나 어두울수록 빛은 찬란하다. 플라톤의 동굴 우화에서처럼 세상 속에 갇혀있던 나를 밖으로 이끄는 존재에 대한 찬사가 담긴 곡. 두려움은 곧, 위대함으로 이어질 것이다.

Returns & Exchanges

Requirements
Please take into consideration that we only accept qualifying returns but not exchanges.
Refunds are issued once the returned products clear our inspection.

An item is eligible for cancellation if :

- you posted a Return request within 24 hours of payment and your order is still under “Pending” status
(if your order is under “Queued for Shipment” status, please contact our customer service center) OR
- the order is delayed for more than 10 days since payment and you have not received any notification regarding the delay OR
- the ordered item is out of stock.

We accept return(s) if :

- you receive a product different from your order OR
- you receive a defective product.

[ Return Instructions ]
① Post a return request on our Return forum within three days of receipt. You are required to attach the photos of the received product(s) and include the item code, the order number, and the reason for the return.
② A customer service representative will be in contact to assist you by email or phone.
③ Items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. Also, you need to include a note of your order number, name, and user ID.

Please be advised that returns are accepted ONLY IF you followed the instructions above and your return request has been approved by our staff. Returns that are shipped to us without any prior consent are not accepted.
Please note that EVEN the defective/incorrect item(s) must be returned with all of the tags and labels intact. The item(s) must be sent in their original packaging and unworn.
Please include all contents of the original package and free gifts (if applicable) in your return packaging.
Shipping fee for any return caused by our fault will be paid by the company. However, if EMS’ cash on delivery is not possible then you can scan the return receipt and either mail it with the item to return or post an image of it on the forum.
The shipping fee will be refunded once the returned item has arrived.

We do not accept return(s) if :

- you are returning the items just because you changed your mind (on size, color, etc.)
- you are returning shoes, bags, or any other accessories
- the products are damaged due to your mishandling

The following items are not considered defective :
* Items that are originally manufactured without tags or labels
* Items with creases that may have been made while shipping

If there is a missing item from your order :
