“ MOT 2집의 '서울은 흐림'에 한희정씨가 featuring해 준 것에 대한 답례로 'Drama'라는 곡에 vocal featuring을 해주게 되었는데, 곡이 너무 마음에 들었다. 나도 더 욕심이 생겼고 녹음과 믹싱 과정에서 많은 의견을 나누다가 자연스럽게 내가 앨범 작업에 더 관여하는 방향으로 이야기가 되었다.
처음에는 내가 프로듀서의 역할을 하면 되겠구나 생각했는데, 오산이었다. 그녀는 이미 훌륭한 프로듀서였고 모든 작, 편곡과 연주, 녹음을 혼자 도맡아 해냈다. 나 역시 그러한 작업방식을 전폭적으로 지지하는 쪽이었으므로, 나는 사운드를 좀 더 깔끔하게 정돈하는 역할을 맡기로 했다. ? MOT 이언 “
아름다운 시절
홍대 앞 인디씬의 가장 아름다운 이름이자, 존재감이었던 ‘푸른 새벽’의 해체 소식은 인디팬들에게 청천벽력과 같은 소식이었다. 하지만 ‘더더’라는 소위 메이저 가수에서 어느 날, 갑자기 ‘푸른새벽’이라는 낯선 이름으로 돌아온 ‘한희정’의 존재감은 예나 지금이나 변함이 없는 듯 하다.
‘한희정’은 2006년 ‘푸른 새벽’의 마지막 앨범을 뒤로 하고 음악 활동을 시작하던 때부터 작업해오던 곡들과, 지난 1년 6개월동안 만든 곡들로 작곡, 작사, 편곡, 프로듀싱 등의 모든 작업을 혼자 맡아 ‘너의 다큐멘트’라는 정규 앨범 작업에 착수한다.
그 기간 동안, 파스텔뮤직 컴필레이션 ’12 songs about you’ 에 [우리 처음 만난 날]을 발표하면서, 싱어송 라이터 ‘박준혁’ 의 앨범에 ‘all right’, 드라마 ‘식객’ OST 에 ‘짙은’과 함께 ‘비밀’에 참여, 서서히 그 아름다운 행보를 시작한다. 더불어, 그녀는 새롭게 만들어지는 곡을 가지고 1,2달 만에 한 번씩 라이브를 갖었고 열 번째 라이브가 준비될 즈음인 지금 ‘너의 다큐멘트’가 발매되었다.
“너의 다큐멘트”
본 앨범은 총 10트랙으로 이루어졌으며, 지난 1년 6개월간의 어쿠스틱 공연에서 선보인 곡들이 내실있게 채워져있다. 한희정의 공연은 매번, 매진 행렬로 언제부턴가 숨죽은 홍대 클럽씬의 가장 잘 팔리는 공연으로 인식되었다. 그렇지만 그녀의 공연은 아이러니하게도 가장 조용하고 가장 어쿠스틱하게 진행되어왔다. 기타와 그녀의 목소리만으로 이뤄진 구성은 이상하리만큼 꽉 채워진 울림으로, 공연이 끝나도 그 파동이 멈춰질 지 몰랐다. 그리고, 기다림이라는 단어로만 채워진 그녀와 팬들의 소통은 다양한 편성의 곡들로 채워진 앨범 ‘너의 다큐멘트’로 매듭을 짓게 된다.
‘너의 다큐멘트’라는 앨범명처럼, 이번 앨범은 어떤 존재가 남겨준 어떤 기록들에 관한 앨범이다. 브로콜리로 변신한 그의 입에서 흘러나오는 이별소식과, 처음 만난 날에 설렘, 산책이나 휴가와 같은 일상의 단편, 때로는 ‘5.18 민주화운동’, 나무라는 단어를 빌어 말하는 존재의 고독함.
그것들이 어떤 식으로 기억되던지 간에, 우리 모두에게 관계와 존재는 기억이라는 흔적으로 돌아온다. 깊고 아련한 새벽 같은 목소리, ‘한희정’의 문서를 들은 당신의 문서에는 오늘 어떤 이야기가 기록될 것인가. 이 시대 가장 아름다운 노래를 들었다. 라고 짙고 짙은 글씨로 끄적거리더라도 훗날 거짓없는 기록이 될 것이다.
