" 고인을 잊지 않고 있는 일반 대중들의 헌정 레코딩과 최승열, 버거보이즈, NY물고기, 시은sieun, 노영채, 염종성, 정마리, 원경, 마이큐MyQ 등이 참여한 여기, 함께, 살아있는 노래... 대한민국 트리뷰트(헌정) 앨범 사상 최초로 음악인을 넘어서 101명 팬들의 레코딩 참여로 이뤄낸 'Hommage Sing-Along 서른 즈음에' 가 담긴 2021년 스페셜 에디션에 이어, 두 번째 헌정 프로젝트로 제작된 본 앨범은 우리 대중음악의 아픈 상흔으로 기억되는 그와 그의 노래에 담긴 진정성을 추모하고, 참여한 선후배 뮤지션들의 음악적 독창성을 함께 담아내어 보자는 취지가 살아있는.. 실로 '진짜' 오마쥬 앨범이다. 참여한 뮤지션들마다 에너지 넘치는 음악적 표현력을 기반으로 광석이형에 대한 오마쥬 독백을 토해내는 듯한 감성과 절제된 가창으로 얹혀 놓아진 출중한 트랙들로 재탄생했음은 물론이다. 각각 음악적 개성을 최대한 발휘했으며 동시에 광석이형의 노래가 가진 오리지널리티에 해가 되지 않는 선에서 빛나는 표현력으로 동시대를 아우르며, 현재에도 여전히 진행중인 광석이형의 '끝나지 않은 노래'에 대한 헌사를 담아내었다. 특히나, 본 앨범은 기존 발매된 적 있는 여타 트리뷰트 성격의 광석이형 리메이크 앨범에 비해 음악인을 넘어 대중들의 헌정 레코딩, 참여 뮤지션들의 폭 넓은 스펙트럼과 음악적 완성도 그리고 다양성 등등의 차원에서도 비교할 수 없는 프로젝트로 평가받고 있음은 물론이다. 고인의 실질적인 유작으로 볼 수 있는 '다시 부르기 2'(1995)가 고인이 자신의 선배인 한국 모던 포크 뮤지션들에게 헌정했던 앨범이라면, 본 프로젝트는 그러했던 고인에게 헌정하고 공감하며, 그의 음악을 재해석해 세대와 세대를 관통하는 공감의 이음새로 자리매김한 프로젝트임을 부인할 수 없다. 결과물의 완성도를 높이기 위해 마스터링 작업은 롤링 스톤즈, 밥 딜런, 노라 존스, 칙 코리아 등 당대 최고의 아티스트들과의 앨범 작업으로 유명한 뉴욕 스털링사운드 수석 엔지니어 그렉 칼비(Greg Callbi)와 Grammy 마스터링 부문 2회 Winner 브라이언 루시(Brian Lucy)가 참여했다. |
