DETAIL INFO - 2단 소형디지팩 - 속지 12p - 14cm x 12.5cm - 1 Disc -다양성을 인정받지 못하고 상처입은 사람들에게 건네는 메시지 -1월 18일 공식 발매 실험적이고 독특한 사운드를 기반으로 한 음악 프로듀서 ‘GLOWCEAN’이 첫 정규앨범을 대중에 선보인다. 매니지먼트사 라일에 따르면 오는 18일 GLOWCEAN이 정규 앨범 1집 ‘Essence’를 공식 발매할 예정이다. 트리플 타이틀 3곡(Pure, Essence, Wheels)를 포함해 13개의 트랙으로 구성된 [Essence]는 다양성이란 곧 세상의 본질임을 표현한 앨범으로, GLOWCEAN만의 개성과 취향을 있는 그대로 담아냈다. 섬세하고 감각적인 이미지를 담은 첫 트랙 ‘Dandelion’부터 세상의 본질, 호기심과 욕망을 담은 'foLlow yoUr curioSiTy’, 동양의 문화를 강조해 동양악기로 재현한 일렉트로닉 트랙 ‘Ceremony’ 와 탈출과 반항을 표현한 트랩 비트로 구성된 ‘Escapade’ 등 색채감이 담긴 트랙들이 수록되어 기대를 모은다. 특히 타이틀곡 Pure 는 자신 그 자체의 의미와 다양성을 존중받지 못한 사람, 더 나아가 성별과 인종, 사회경제적 배경으로 차별받고 상처받은 모든 사람들에게 힘이 되고자 하는 희망적인 메시지를 전달하고 있다. GLOWCEAN은 “우리 각자의 고유한 색은 다른 무엇과도 비교할 수 없는 특별함을 가지고 있다는 생각에서 출발해 만들어진 앨범이다. 저 스스로도 1년 동안 곡 작업을 하면서 많이 성장했기 때문에, 제가 전하고자 했던 메시지가 누군가에게는 용기로 다가왔으면 한다”며 앨범 발매 소감을 전했다. 앨범에는 같은 소속사인 보컬 쟈드(Jade) 및 THAMA, YESEO, SUZANNE, 체리콕(CherryCoke) 등 실력파 아티스트들이 피처링으로 참여하며 트랙을 더욱 빛냈다. GLOWCEAN은 음악 프로듀서이자 비트메이커로 2018년 버클리음대 EPD (Electronic Production & Design) 전공을 졸업, 현재 매니지먼트사 라일 소속 프로듀서로 활동 중이다. Choyoung, Cimona 등의 아티스트들과 함께 작업하며 다양한 음악적 스펙트럼을 쌓아왔다. 한편 GLOWCEAN이 소속해 있는 라일은 음악에 특화한 뉴미디어 콘텐츠 IP기업으로, 최근 ‘얼라이브 펑크(Alive Funk)’, ‘쟈드(Jade)’ 등을 필두로 하여 매니지먼트 사업을 강화하고 있다. |
