Empty 대중음악계에 또 다시 폭풍을 일으킬 모던락 밴드 `넬` 2집 발매 한층 세련되고 솔직한 음악으로 넬이 들려주는 슬픈 이야기 `walk through me` 서태지컴퍼니 괴수인디진 레이블, 1집에 이어 서태지가 Executive Producer로 참여. 서태지컴퍼니 괴수인디진 레이블의 1호 밴드로 화제를 모았던 밴드 넬(Nell)이 2집 [walk through me]로 돌아왔다. 작년 6월 발매된 1집 [Let It Rain]으로 어느 밴드에게서도 찾아볼 수 없는 감성적이고 중독성 강한 색깔을 통해 국내 락음악계의 새로운 돌파구를 마련한 넬은 전곡의 작사ㆍ작곡을 담당하는 김종완(보컬), 이재경(기타), 이정훈(베이스), 정재원(드럼)으로 이루어진 모던락 밴드이다. 전곡의 작사ㆍ작곡, 프로듀싱, 연주, 레코딩, 엔지니어링 등을 전부 직접 담당한 넬은 작년 6월 1집 발매 후 활동 중반부터 준비한 2집을 통해 올 가을 드디어 많은 이들의 마음 속으로 들어가게 되었다. 새 앨범을 애타게 기다리는 팬들에게 완벽한 음악을 들려주기 위해 타이틀곡을 몇 차례나 다시 쓰는 등 심혈을 기울여 온 넬은 7월 말부터 3개월이라는 긴 시간을 녹음에만 투자했으며, 보다 퀄리티 높은 사운드의 곡을 들려주기 위해 각 곡 당 20번 이상의 재녹음을 하기도 했다. 또한 락음악이 활성화되지 않은 국내의 현실상 최상의 사운드를 뽑아내기 위해 서태지가 국내에서 모든 곡 작업과 연습을 한 장소로 국내 최고의 시설을 갖춘 락 전문 스튜디오에서 더빙과 보컬 녹음을 하기도 해 최고의 가수 서태지가 그들에게 거는 기대를 충분히 느낄 수 있다. 또한 이번 앨범의 Executive Procucer 역시 서태지. 그는 지금까지 13년 간 배우고 쌓아왔던 음악적 노하우를 통해 넬의 앨범 작업 전반에 걸쳐 중요한 조언자 역할을 해줌으로써 넬의 음악적 역량에 거는 기대와 애정을 여실히 드러냈다. 넬은 이번 앨범을 국제 무대에서도 통할 수 있도록 일본의 니가타현에 위치한 음악전문학교의 유명 스튜디오에서 교수이자 세계적인 엔지니어인 히로노리 사토(Hironori Satoh)와 믹스 작업을 하고, 마스터링은 일본 현지에 매니아층을 형성하고 있을 정도로 정평이 나 있는 천재 엔지니어 키타무라(Kitamura)가 담당했다. 이들은 넬 1집에도 참여해 국내에서 이미 인정을 받기도 했다. 이번 앨범을 들으면 작사ㆍ작곡을 전담하는 보컬 김종완이 바레인, 캐나다, 스위스 등에서 청소년기를 보내며 접했던 음악들을 통해 넬의 음악적 감수성에 가장 큰 영향을 미쳤던 외국의 락음악적인 사운드와 감성을 접할 수 있게 된다. 감성적인 멜로디 속에서 특유의 투명하고 슬픈 서정미와 독특한 사운드 컬러, 시적인 가사로 우울하고 슬픈 이야기를 들려주는 넬은 이번 앨범에서 안정적이고 차분해진 느낌과 보다 깊어지고 세련된 음악으로 많은 이들에게 공감을 일으킬 정도로 성숙함을 보여준다. 보다 절제하고 힘을 뺀 어쿠스틱 사운드는 또 다시 한없는 슬픔에 빠지게 만드는 묘한 매력을 지니고 있으며, 이번 앨범에서 많은 부분을 차지하고 있는 피아노 연주는 이 가을의 분위기에 어울려 또 다시 넬이 주는 감동에서 헤어나올 수 없게 만들고, 넬의 개인적인 이야기들을 통해 들려주는 이번 앨범에 어느덧 공감하게 된다. 넬의 두 번째 이야기 [walk through me]는 `나를 뚫고 지나가다`라는 타이틀처럼 넬의 이번 음악을 통해 넬의 모든 것을 알게 될 수 있을 만큼 그 동안 말하지 않던 것들, 말로서는 할 수 없었던 것들이 음악으로 잘 표현되어 있다. 특히 타이틀곡인 `thank you`는 신선하고 탄탄한 구성과 귀에 달라붙는 감동적인 멜로디, 넬 특유의 서정적인 가사가 잘 조합된 가장 넬스러운 곡으로 쓸쓸하지만 아름다운 올 가을 감동을 불러일으키기에 충분하다. 또한 듣는 이에게 대중적으로 쉽게 다가갈 수 있는 곡으로 밝고 경쾌하며 리드미컬한 사운드를 통해 밝음 속에 우울이 내재되어 있는 `selfish love`, 강렬하면서 호소력 짙은 넬의 분위기를 잘 나타내주며 이미지가 좋은 느낌으로 다가오는 `부서진 입가에 머물다` 등 훨씬 세련되고 성숙된 음악들을 들려준다. 넬이 가슴 속 저 깊이 감추고 있었던 이야기들을 넬을 뚫고 지나가버림으로써 다 들킨 것 같은 느낌.. 그리고 그 가슴 속 이야기들을 들켜버림으로써 그 어느 때보다 솔직한 음반이 될 수 있었던 넬의 또 다른 슬픈 이야기 [walk through me]의 아름답고 슬픈 느낌을 듣는 이들도 공감할 수 있길 기대해본다. |

We accept return(s) if :- you receive a product different from your order OR - you receive a defective product.
[ Return Instructions ] ① Post a return request on our Return forum within three days of receipt. You are required to attach the photos of the received product(s) and include the item code, the order number, and the reason for the return. ② A customer service representative will be in contact to assist you by email or phone. ③ Items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. Also, you need to include a note of your order number, name, and user ID.
