I'll come to you 04. 바닥이 빛나는 것들을 업고 05. 여행 06. 나무의 꿈 07. 봄소식 08. 바람부는 날 09. 500 miles 여행자의 노래 선곡자 떠돌이별 ‘임의진’이 추천하는 신인 포크 싱어, 수니의 첫번째 앨범!! 미국유학파 신인 여성 포키 수니(Soonie)의 잔잔하고도 서정미 넘치는, 청청한 노래들. 영국의 인디 포크록 가수 Vashti Bunyan을 연상케하는 읊조림과 가야금을 물고 나오는 '바닥이 빛나는 것들을 업고'와 같은 매혹적인 구성미, 기쁨인지 슬픔인지 모를 낯선 감정으로 눈물을 어룽거리게 만드는 'I'll come to you'와 보너스 트랙으로 담은 '500 miles'의 서글픈 감성, 단순 소박한 생태적 삶을 꿈꾸는 친구에게 들려주고픈 청청(淸淸)한 노래들로 가득하다. <외로운 들꽃의 노래> 수니는 구도행(行)에 뛰어든 정금미옥의 노래꾼이다. 얽매임 없이, 하고 싶은 일을 하면서, 자기 갈 길, 자기 본분을 찬찬히 살펴가는 친구다. 한때 북아메리카 B.Y.U 하와이에 유학하여 노래를 배우고, 노래에 살았다. 먼나라에 위폐되어 있으면 김치 생각이 간절하질 않던가. 꼬부랑말이 아닌 한국말로 노래하고 싶어 보따리를 싸고 돌아온 뒤, 음악활동이 아닌 여행으로 이십대를 소일했다. 그러다 일찍이 '무당산'이라 불려 쌌던 무등산 자락에 연고를 두고, 옴팡진 곳에 위치한 누옥에서 대우주 대모신의 경물을 오선지에 차곡차곡 새겨가며 은일자족하였다. 여성으로서 생태적 삶을 지향하는 <에코 페미니즘>과 전쟁 없고 다툼 없는 <사랑>과 <평화>라는 주제는 수니가 보듬고 노래하는 일생일대의 화두다. 가끔 떠돌뱅이 친구들과 어울려 집시들의 축제를 벌일 때면, 수니는 인디언처럼 머리카락을 늘어뜨리고서 기타를 잡는다. 고요하였다가 쟁글거리는 노랫소리와 낭랑한 기타의 운조, 수령(樹齡) 일이백년의 나무들도 들썩거리게 만드는 신묘한 매력을 발산한다. 중세를 빛낸 음악인 힐데가르트 수녀처럼 천지합일 생명평화의 개벽을 기원하는 무녀가 맞는지도 모른다. 그녀는 한참 도회를 어슬렁거릴 나이에 올곧이 산을 올라 다녔다. 숙종때 사람 '능호관 이인상'의 그림에서나 구경했음직한 소나무가 산자락 구비마다 쭉-쭉- 뻗어있는 솔길을 말이다. 솔숲이야말로 그녀의 청중이었고 열성 팬클럽이었다. 그녀가 메고 다니는 낡고 뒤틀린 통기타 또한 전에 나무로 살았던 대자연 대모신이 아니겠는가. 무구(巫具)를 높이 들고, 숲으로 들어가는 신령한 여자 하나, 지금 이렇게 노래를 부르고 있는 것이다. 수니는 대도시 서울에서 오래 견디지를 못한다. 핸디캡이 될 만한 이런 주거적 취향(?)으로 그녀는 쓸쓸함의 대명사일 지방 가수, 언더그라운드 신세를 좀체 벗어나지 못할 성 싶다. 유행이나 붉은 네온사인의 삶을 싸담지 못한, 변방의 시골뜨기가 들고 나온 이번 데뷔 음반은 앞서 말한 대자연에서의 은일 자족한 결과물이다. 대개 <놀라운>이라는 말을 붙이고 나오는 데뷔 음반들이 오히려 식상하게 느껴진다. 수니의 노래는 그저 여여한 <은일 자족>의 여유를 보여줄 뿐이다. 확 비틀어대는 기교나 치기 대신 진정성, 영혼의 목소리에 다가서려 애쓴다. <바닥이 빛나는 것들을 업고>에서 보여주듯, 잘잘한 읊조림으로 충분히 면전의 황홀을 느끼게 만든다. 수니의 목청은 전자음이 배제된 어쿠스틱, 잎사귀가 부비며 내는 소리 정도의 잔잔한 목청이다. 노래의 배경을 삼는 기타 등 반주 편성도 될 수 있으면 악닥거리지 않고 고요한 중음을 애써 지켜간다. 그리하여 소박, 순박, 간결, 때로는 나른하기까지 하다. 그런 방면으로는 영국의 인디 포크록 가수 Vashti Bunyan과 흡사하다 하겠다. 인디 포크, 인디 록의 외골목에서 자란 인연도 그러하며, 에서 보여준 내밀한 주문(呪文)까지... 다름이 있다면, 수니는 우리네 남녘사람답게 전통적인 가락을 적절히 차용하고, 해금이나 가야금과 같은 앵앵거리는 국악기를 돋보이게 사용하는 점이다. 미국의 인디 포키들이 만돌린이나 밴조를 종종 사용하듯 말이다. 영합하여 변절하지 않고, 오롯이 자기 노래를 부를 때까지 자라나기를 바란다. 부디 화원에서 팔리는 화사한 꽃이기보다, 산자락 어딘가에 외로운 들꽃으로은은하기를 두손 모은다. 임의진 (월드뮤직 <여행자의 노래 1-2> 선곡자, 시인) |

We accept return(s) if :- you receive a product different from your order OR - you receive a defective product.
[ Return Instructions ] ① Post a return request on our Return forum within three days of receipt.
