Blossom 캐스커가 만들어가는 또 하나의 이정표 [여정旅程] - 가슴을 두드리는 차가운 카타르시스 그리고 서글픈 위로의 메시지 - 쌀쌀한 가을, 시린 마음을 녹여줄 따뜻한 ‘Undo’ 그리고 12개의 이야기 [이벤트] 1. 이벤트 : 앨범 구매자 중 추첨을 통해 10명에게 '용의자X 맥스무비 영화 관람권(1인2매)' 추첨 증정 2. 이벤트 기간 : 10월 17일 ~ 11월 2일 3. 당첨자 확인 : 당첨자는 11월 2일 주문시 저장한 휴대번호 문자로 맥스무비 예매번호를 알려드립니다. 길 위에 서다 - 진화하는 캐스커 캐스커(이준오, 융진)가 2년 만에 6집 앨범 [여정旅程]으로 돌아왔다. 2003년 1집 앨범 ‘철갑혹성’으로 데뷔한 이래 캐스커는 탱고, 보사노바 등 다양한 장르의 음악들을 자신들만의 스타일로 재해석해내면서 감각적이고 세련된 특유의 음악들을 선보여왔다. ‘한국 일렉트로닉의 대명사’, ‘캐스커라는 하나의 장르’, ‘심장을 가진 기계 음악’, ‘노래하는 전자 시인’ 등 수많은 수식어에서도 엿볼 수 있듯 자칫 차갑게만 들릴 수 있는 전자음에 고독, 외로움, 그리움 혹은 따뜻한, 때로는 다정한 감성의 숨결을 불어넣어 온 캐스커는 이번 앨범을 통해 사유하는 일렉트로닉으로 한 발 더 진일보한 모습을 보여준다. 앨범의 타이틀인 [여정]은, 내년이면 데뷔 10주년을 맞는 캐스커가 걸어가고 있는 뮤지션으로서의 긴 여행의 한 조각을 의미하기도 하며, 고단한 우리들의 인생을 의미하기도 한다. 누구에게나 그렇듯, 삶과 여행의 과정에는 기쁨과 슬픔이 공존하며 열정과 회한이 한데 어우러진다. 어느 순간 음악이 삶의 목표나 희망이 아닌 삶의 과정이 되어버린 캐스커에게 이번 앨범은 그들이 걸어가고 있는 길 위의 한 지점과 같다. 길 위를 걷다 - 애정, 소통, 그리고 관계의 연장선 전반적으로 이번 앨범은 주로 ‘애정’ 혹은 ‘소통’에 대한 이야기를 담고 있다. 짧지만 드라마틱한 구성이 돋보이는 ‘Intro’로 시작되는 앨범은 사랑과는 또 다른, 인간으로서 기본적으로 갈구하는 애정 그리고 사람들 사이의 소통에 대한 화두를 끊임없이 던지고 있다. 기존의 캐스커보다 조금 더 밝은 느낌의 록사운드를 내는 ‘The healing Song’에서는 우리 모두가 사랑하고, 위로 받고, 치유 받는 것들에 대한 이야기를 다양한 신시사이저들의 결합으로 표현해냈다. ‘나쁘게’와 ‘Wonderful’에서는 관계의 상처에서 오는 감정들을 고혹적인 멜로디로 담아내고 있다. 아무리 노력해도 헤어날 수 없는 지겨운 사랑의 굴레를 벗어버릴 수 있도록 더 가혹하고, 잔인하게 대해달라고 절규하는가 하면, 거짓말이라도 괜찮으니 좋아한다는 한 마디를 건네달라고 애원한다. 발버둥치면 칠수록 더 깊이 빠져버리는 늪의 끝에는 눈물조차 말라버린 감정의 찌꺼기들이 부유할 뿐이지만, 이 역시 긴 여행의 한 과정으로 남을 것이다. 가사만큼 차가운 사운드 그리고 80년대 뉴웨이브적 요소와 현대적인 요소가 어우러진 두 트랙은 스스로도 어쩔 수 없는 마음을 묘사하며 인간관계의 ‘본질’에 다가서고 있다. 이번 앨범의 타이틀곡인 ‘Undo’는 캐스커가 기존에 자주 선보여 온 보사노바를 조금 더 어쿠스틱한 정통적 형식으로 풀어내 일렉트로닉적 요소를 덧붙인 곡으로, 부드러운 감촉의 달콤한 사운드를 통해 대중들에게 한층 더 친근하게 다가간다. 유려하면서도 살랑거리는 멜로디에 취해 들여다본 가사는 마냥 기쁘지도, 슬프지도 않은 무(無)의 상태를 그리고 있다. 컴퓨터에서는 ‘Undo’ 버튼 한 번으로 실행을 되돌릴 수 있지만 현실에서는 그런 일이 일어날 수도, 일어나지도 않는 법. 그렇게 간단히 되돌릴 수 없는 일이라는 것을 알고 있지만, 여전히 진행 중인 선명하고 아름다운 기억은 떠나간 이에게 다시 undo 버튼을 누르는 것처럼 돌아와 달라고 노래한다. 따사로운 오후의 햇살이 빚어내는 풍경이 망막 속에 남아있는 듯한 아련한 연주곡 ‘잔상’을 지나고 나면, 한 편의 유럽 소설을 연상시키는 ‘편지’가 강렬하게 귓가를 파고든다. 복고적인 신시사이저와 드럼으로 이루어져 ‘전자왈츠’라는 캐스커만의 새로운 장르를 만들어 내는 이 곡은, 아날로그 악기들과 바이올린의 조합으로 사운드의 품격을 높이는 한 편 신파에 가까울 정도로 처연한 분위기를 풍기고 있다. 차마 닿을 수 없는 이야기들을 흥얼거리는 후렴구는 삭막한 외로움을 극대화시키기에 충분하며, 그렇기에 속삭이는 듯한 보컬의 목소리가 더욱 가슴 깊이 와 닿는다. ‘P’는 끝없는 기다림을 반복하는 남자의 이야기다. 앨범의 유일한 남성 보컬곡인 이 곡의 보컬은 전작의 ‘물고기’에 이어 전곡을 소화해 낸 이준오가 그 주인공이다. ‘한 시간만, 한 시간만 더’라며 아련한 그리움의 여운을 길게 남기는 남자의 묵직한 울림이 인상적이다. 캐스커 초기부터 사용해 온 트립합과 재즈의 요소가 가장 많이 뒤섞인 ‘천 개의 태양’은 몽롱하면서도 창백한 겨울의 감성을 떠올리게 한다. 영화 ‘용의자 X’의 뮤직비디오에 삽입되기도 한 이 곡은 상처받은 듯한 여자의 가냘픈 보컬과 피아노, 첼로 등 악기들이 앙상블을 이루며 고아하면서도 애잔한 매력으로 중독성 있는 캐스커만의 풍미를 드러내고 있다. 애정, 소통, 사랑과 인간관계와 같은 인생의 과정들을 노래하는 [여정旅程]은 도시 속 사람들의 내면을 한층 더 깊이 파고든다. ‘Face you’와 같이 SNS라는 익명의 장치 속에 숨어 실제의 자신을 편리하게 감추고 포장된 이미지만을 내세우는 현대인들은 수많은 길을 통해 서로의 온기를 느끼고 싶어하지만, 그럴수록 더 외롭고 공허해지기 마련이다. 전자악기로 포크를 하는 듯한 ‘여전히’ 역시 공허함을 살렸고, 여러 가지 노이즈로 리듬과 음색을 만드는 실험을 시도한 마지막 트랙 ‘Blossom’에서는 채 피기도 전에 떠나가버리는 도시의 외로운 사람들에 대해 노래하며 소통의 부재에서 오는 회색의 여운을 남겨 씁쓸한 감상을 더했다. 길 위에서, 돌아보다 살아가면서 겪을 수밖에 없는 고통의 흔적, 혹은 기쁨과 환희의 순간을 담은 [여정旅程]은 국내 일렉트로닉의 독보적인 위치를 차지해 온 캐스커의 진솔한 고백이자 되새김이며, 따가운 일침이다. 강렬한 사운드로 가장 연약한 내면을 쓰다듬는 음악에 몸을 내맡기고, 바람과 함께 걸어간다면 어느새 아물어 있는 상처를 발견할 수 있을 것이다. 동병상련을 이끌어내는 서글픈 위로의 메시지에, 귀를 기울여 보는 것이 어떨까. 따뜻하면서도 외로운 사람들을 위로하는 12개의 음악들. 온라인에는 공개되지 않는 히든 트랙은 오직 오프라인 CD를 통해서만 만나볼 수 있어, 앨범을 구입하는 이들에게는 더욱 특별한 선물이 될 것이다. |

We accept return(s) if :- you receive a product different from your order OR - you receive a defective product.
[ Return Instructions ] ① Post a return request on our Return forum within three days of receipt. You are required to attach the photos of the received product(s) and include the item code, the order number, and the reason for the return. ② A customer service representative will be in contact to assist you by email or phone. ③ Items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. Also, you need to include a note of your order number, name, and user ID.
