It's Christmas - Around the World - 드레스덴 필하모닉 어린이 합창단 드레스덴 필하모니 어린이 합창단은 50년이 넘는 역사를 자랑하며, 독일에서 가장 성공적인 어린이 합창단 중 하나다. 12세에서 18세의 단원이 중심을 이루고 있으며, 현재 약 140명의 소년·소녀가 다양한 편성으로 활동하고 있다. 이 합창단은 드레스덴 필하모니 관현악단과의 합동 콘서트뿐만 아니라 자체 콘서트에도 힘을 쏟고 있으며, 르네상스부터 21세기 작품까지, 그리고 민요에서 팝(ABBA, 비틀즈 등)에 이르기까지 폭넓은 레퍼토리를 연주한다. 또한 독일 국내 투어뿐만 아니라 국제 투어도 활발히 진행하고 있으며, 최근에는 일본, 중국, 미국, 아랍에미리트, 영국, 프랑스, 호주, 남아프리카공화국 등에서 콘서트와 워크숍을 개최했다. 합창단의 CD 녹음, 라디오, 영화, TV 프로그램 역시 그 높은 품질로 호평을 받고 있다. 이 외에도 국내외 여러 콩쿠르에서 수많은 상을 수상했으며, 최근에는 스트라스부르의 유럽 의회에 드레스덴의 대사로 초청되어 연주하기도 했다. 이러한 드레스덴 필하모니 어린이 합창단의 최신 녹음인 《It's Christmas - Around the World》는, 듣는 것만으로도 유럽 각지를 여행하며 여러 나라의 크리스마스를 함께 축하하는 듯한 경험을 선사하는 앨범이다. 수록된 곡들은 귄터 베르거의 지휘 아래, 다양한 국가와 문화의 전통 음악부터 아직 널리 알려지지 않은 작품까지 아우르는 여러 크리스마스 캐럴들로 구성되어 있다. 각 작품은 밤이 길고 추운 지역에서부터 따뜻한 햇빛 아래에서 크리스마스를 맞는 지역까지, 각국의 전통, 기후, 음악적 양식을 반영하고 있다. 이 앨범은 신선한 레퍼토리와 전통적 작품에 대한 새로운 해석을 결합해, 끊임없이 발전하는 합창단의 역동적인 사운드를 선보인다. 02.
