Anything Goes 시리즈는 제가 살아가면서 느낀 것들을 적는 일기장입니다. 그래서 다분히 개인적인 앨범입니다. 하지만 한편으론 다분히 사회적인 메시지를 품고 있기도 합니다. 그 이유는 제가 오랫동안 목격해 온 것들이 더 이상 제 안에서만 머무는 데에 한계를 느꼈기 때문입니다. 하지만 아티스트는 선동가도 아니고 정치인도 아닙니다. 아티스트는 지극히 개인적인 이야기를 할 때에 가장 강력한 사회적인 메시지를 갖습니다. 수록곡 ‘죽지마’를 만들 때 저는 단 한 가지 저의 이기적인 마음에만 집중했습니다. 이 곡을 듣는 사람 중 단 한 사람이라도 좋으니, 살았으면 좋겠다. Anything Goes II를 들으신 모든 분들이 이런 저의 노골적인 바램을 느끼셨으면 좋겠습니다. |
