01 진양조 02 중머리 03 중중모리, 굿거리, 시나위 04 자진모리 죽향 이생강 선생 <미공개 원형 대금산조> 최초공개!!! 올해로 대나무 소리 70해를 맞이하는 중요무형문화재 제45호 대금산조 예능보유자 이생강 선생. 그가 이번에는 정악대금으로 연주한 미공개 원형대금산조(散調) 음반이 발매 되었다. 대금의 종류에는 정악대금과 산조대금이 있다. 정악대금은 주로 궁중음악에 사용되는 악기로 다른 악기와 합주할 때 적합하다. 정악대금의 길이가 길게 되어 있는 것도 다른 악기와의 음정을 고려한 이유이다. 또 정악대금은 취구가 작아서 농음이 어렵고, 지공 사이가 넓어서 다루기도 어려울 뿐만 아니라, 호흡에도 어려움이 있다. 산조대금과 같은 꺾기나 깊은 농음, 다루치기가 어려운 단점이 있다. 반면 산조대금은 대금산조 독주를 위해 만들어진 악기이다. 다양하고, 화려한 가락이 많아 손동작을 원활하게 하려고 정악대금보다 짧게 만들어져 손 움직임을 편하게 하는 특징이 있다. 그런데 이생강 명인은 이번에 정악을 연주해야 할 정악대금으로 산조 음반을 내놓았다. 정악연주를 하기 위해 만들어진 정악대금으로 산조를 연주하면 어떻게 될까? 정악대금으로 산조를 연주한 이번 음반에서 그 신기한 뻐꾸기 소리는 어떻게 바뀌었을까? 하는 원시적인 궁금증은 네댓 장단만 진행하면 금방 잊혀버린다. 곧 명인이 정악대금으로 단지 음고만 달리해 산조대금의 산조를 흉내 낸 것인지 아니면 투철한 도전정신이 빚어낸 작품인지는 진양 한 악장만 들어도 금방 확인하게 된다. 그것은 정악대금 만이 가진 묵직하면서도 청아한 소리 속에 실리는 산조의 새로운 느낌 그 자체에 푹 빠질 수밖에 없기 때문이다. 그뿐만 아니라 산조대금에서는 경험해보지 못한 묵직한 성음 때문에 마음을 다스리며 들을 수 있는 독특한 경험도 이번 음반의 빼놓을 수 없는 매력이다. |
