Leaveourtears는 노이즈를 이용해 무드를 만들 줄 알고, 그 무드는 세상에 존재하는 가장 높은 곳에 가 닿을 수도, 또 가장 아래로까지 향할 수도 있다. 사람의 마음에도 다르지 않다. 가장 충만한 기분을 느끼게 할 수도 있고, 마음의 심연에 이를 수도 있다. ‘우리의 눈물을 남기고’라는 뜻을 가진 1인 밴드. Leaveourtears는 혼자서 모든 곡을 만들고 연주한다. 그는 자아가 형성될 무렵 들은 스티브 밀러 밴드의 ‘Winter Time’에 흠뻑 빠져 있었다고 한다. Leaveourtears가 들려주는 슈게이즈 음악과 스티브 밀러 밴드의 전통적인 록 음악 사이엔 커다란 강이 놓여있는 것 같지만, ‘Winter Time’에 담겨 있는 ‘우울하고 푹 꺼지는’ 정서는 그대로 Leaveourtears의 감정을 건드렸다. 그는 그런 음악을 해야 하는 사람이었다. 우울하고 푹 꺼지는 무언가. 슈게이즈에 관한 이야기가 많이 들려온다. 1980년대 시작해 1990년대 초까지 인기를 얻다가 ‘사라졌다’고 생각했던 장르. 그 사라졌던 음악을, 그 시대를 경험하지 못한 한국의 젊은이들이 주도해 다시 소환하는 모습은 경이로웠다. 하나의 무브먼트라고 해도 과언이 아니다. 그 무브먼트 안에 Leaveourtears도 있었다. 2024년 발표한 첫 앨범 [soft meltdown]에는 그가 빠져있던 우울하고 푹 꺼지는 소리가 담겨 있었다. 거칠게 말해 노이즈와 멜로디의 결합이라고 할 수 있는 슈게이즈의 묘미가 담겨 있었다. 사운드로서의 노이즈가 존재한다면 멜로디는 정서적인 것에 더 가깝다. 노이즈와 멜로디라는, 어울려 보이지 않는 것들이 합일을 이룰 때 장르로서의 슈게이즈는 비로소 폭발한다. [soft meltdown]은 서서히 타올라 결국 폭발했다. 폭발의 여운이 다 가시지 않은 2025년 Leaveourtears는 또 한 장의 앨범을 준비했다. [acid sugar]. ‘환각 설탕’쯤으로 해석해야 할까. 슈게이즈와 포스트 록이 품고 있는 환상과 몽환의 세계가 새롭게 펼쳐지고 있었다. Leaveourtears의 가장 큰 미덕은 그가 철저한 앨범 아티스트라는 점이다. 첫 결과물을 풀렝쓰 정규 앨범으로 낸 Leaveourtears는 짧은 간격으로 두 번째 앨범을 완성했다. [acid sugar]의 첫 곡은 ‘uroboros’. 뱀이나 용이 자신의 꼬리를 먹음으로써 동그란 형태를 이루는 고대 그림을 일컫는다. 이는 한 장의 앨범 안에서도 작동한다. 앨범의 마지막 곡은 다시 첫 곡과 연결되고, 시작은 곧 마지막과 이어져있다. 앨범을 완성하며 서사를 쌓고, 트랙 배치에 고심하는 이유다. 개별 싱글이 감히 이루어내지 못할 세계다. ‘uroboros’에서부터 뿌옇게 들려오는 기타 노이즈는 앨범 전체를 지배한다. ‘abyss’처럼 모호하게 다가서다가 몰아치는 연주에서는 노이즈를 제대로 이용한다는 확신을 주기도 한다. 앨범 전체가 하나의 곡처럼 일관성을 갖고 있지만 ‘greedy eyes’의 왜곡된 서정, ‘adorable’의 처연한 정서는 각기 빛난다. 처음 이 노이즈가 아름답다고 말했던 이유다. Leaveourtears가 원곡과 짝을 이루는 ‘slowed version’을 함께 담은 건, 이 음악에 ‘사운드’라는 요소가 얼마나 중요한지를 이해하고 있기 때문이다. 좋은 음악은 상상하게 만든다. [acid sugar]는 계속해서 상상하게 한다. ‘심연(abyss)’을 상상하게 하고, ‘탐욕스러운 눈(greedy)’에 대해 상상하게 한다. 우울하고 푹 꺼진 것들에 마음을 기울이던 이가 만들어내는 ‘사랑(adorable)’의 표현에 관해 상상하게 한다. 흐릿하게 들리는 가사에 귀 기울이며 낱말 하나하나를 살펴보게 한다. 새벽 4시에 이 음악을 듣고 있다. 밤과 낮, 듣는 시간과 장소에 따라 감상이 달라지는 신비로운 음악이지만, 기저에 깔려있는 아름다움은 변함이 없다. 이 아름다움은 마음의 가장 높은 곳부터 가장 낮은 곳까지 이른다. / 김학선 (대중음악평론가) |

We accept return(s) if :- you receive a product different from your order OR - you receive a defective product.
[ Return Instructions ] ① Post a return request on our Return forum within three days of receipt. You are required to attach the photos of the received product(s) and include the item code, the order number, and the reason for the return. ② A customer service representative will be in contact to assist you by email or phone. ③ Items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. Also, you need to include a note of your order number, name, and user ID. Please be advised that returns are accepted ONLY IF you followed the instructions above and your return request has been approved by our staff. Returns that are shipped to us without any prior consent are not accepted. Please note that EVEN the defective/incorrect item(s) must be returned with all of the tags and labels intact.
