Tiger JK) 3:24 대한민국 힙합의 영순위, ‘가리온'이 14년 만에 정규 3집 앨범 [가리온3]으로 돌아왔다. 1998년에 결성된 MC메타와 나찰의 듀오 ‘가리온'은, 정규 1집(2004년)과 2집(2010년) 모두 평단과 팬들의 찬사를 받으며 한국 대중음악상 수상과 ‘100대 명반'에 선정되는 등 명실상부한 대한민국의 대표 힙합그룹으로서 자리매김해왔다. ‘온고지신(溫故知新)'을 제작 모토로 삼은 이번 [가리온3]는 전작의 향수를 이어가면서도 두 래퍼의 한층 무르익은 랩, 그리고 오랜 시간 풀지 못했던 새로운 이야기들을 담아 총 14곡에 풀어냈다. 또한 앨범의 총괄 프로듀서를 딥플로우가 담당해, 1년여의 제작 기간 동안 본 프로젝트를 높은 완성도로 이끌었다. 프로듀서진으로 킵루츠, 그레이, 더 콰이엇, 마일드 비츠, 프레디 카소, 비앙, 이안 캐시, 돈 싸인, 16 레벨즈가, 피처링으로는 타이거 JK, 개코, 팔로알토, 마이노스, 화지, 쿤타, 따마, 스카이민혁 등 베테랑과 신예 아티스들이 대거 참여하며 앨범의 풍부한 멋을 선사했다. 2010년대부터 시작된 힙합의 대중적 인기, TV 힙합 쇼와 세대교체의 홍수 속에서 가리온은 14년이란 긴 공백을 지나왔다. 데뷔 앨범 20주년을 맞은 올해, 지난 시간을 복기하며 체스판 위로 돌아온 가리온은 드디어 다음 한 수를 내밀었다.
