01. 역 02. 기차는 간다 03. 산넘어 저쪽 04. 모란이 피기까지는 05. 낙화유수 06. 미사의 종 07. 누가 이사람을 모르시나요 08. 못잊겠어요 09. 이별의 종착역 6집 꽃구경 이후 4년 만에 출반되는 소리꾼 장사익의 7집 앨범 [역 (驛)] 잎사귀 하나가 가지를 놓는다. 한세월 그냥 버티다 보면 덩달아 뿌리내려 나무 될 줄 알았다!~ 스쳐 지나는 역, 내리고 떠나며 어떤 이는 머물고~ 우리는 오늘도 人生의 역에 서성대는 삶은 아닌지? 6집 꽃구경 이후 4년 만에 출반되는 장사익의 7집 앨범 타이틀 [驛]이다. 그리 평탄치 않았던 60중반의 여정을, 시골시인 의사인 김승기 시인의 시를, 노래로 엮어 담담히 부른다. 듣고 있노라면 내 모습이 거울에 비췬 듯 보인다. 두 번째 트랙의 ‘기차는 간다’는, 지금까지 경험했던 장사익의 노래 형태와는 다른 빠르고 경쾌하며 리듬감 있는, 가장 보편적이며 대중성 있는 노래 일 것이다. 후렴 부분 반복되는 구절이 참 명랑하게 들린다. 4번째 트랙 김영랑시인의 ‘모란이 피기까지는’ 계절의 여왕 5월에 뚝뚝 떨어진 진홍색의 모란꽃을 보며, 치열하며 처연하게 노래를 부른다. 유장한 트럼펫 소리에 전자음은 깔리고, 단호한 소릿북, 코러스가 어우러져 스케일이 큰 노래 형식으로 우리에게 다가온다. 늘 그렇듯이 후반트랙들은 기존의 가요로, 장사익 특유의 감성과 해석으로 재 탄생된다. 5번 낙화유수, 6번 미사의 종, 7번 누가 이사람을 모르시나요, 8번 못잊겠어요, 9번 이별의 종착역. 아주 먼 옛날의 노래들이 푹 익은 장맛처럼 새롭고 정겹게 다가온다. 특히 마지막 트랙 ‘이별의 종착역’은 원작과는 사뭇 다른 강렬한 정재열의 일랙기타 사운드로, 블르스의 노래가 장사익의 목소리와 어떤 조화를 이루는지 근 8분여의 음악 속에 느껴봄도 재미있을 듯하다. 따뜻한 봄날, 움추렸던 몸과 맘을 장사익의 노래와 同行하는 것도 봄을 맞는 멋진 일이 아닐까! |
