COFFEE PLACE 2021년 발매된 특이점 [Hyodo and BASS 1집] “효도앤베이스는 기본적으로 개러지, 혹은 포스트펑크 성향의 락밴드로서 테잎 머신을 이용한 DIY 원테이크 레코딩을 지향합니다” [1집]은 멤버 전원이 한 방에 모여 다같이 녹음하여 날것의 느낌, 라이브의 질감을 돋보이게 함과 동시에 포스트 프로덕션 (믹싱, 마스터링)을 최소화하는 방식을 추구하였고, 80분에 달하는 러닝타임 동안 다소 랜덤하고 예측하기 힘든 음악적 구성과 다양한 색깔을 느낄 수 있습니다. 추상적이지만 때로는 거칠고 직설적인 가사들로 가득한 24곡은 대부분 세 명이 함께 쓴 것들이며 각자가 서울에서 생활하며 느끼는 복합적인 감정들을 표현하였습니다. [1집] was written rehearsed and recorded in 3 months in a small basement. 24 songs in 3 months. in a basement. during winter. the basement was at rm360 in bangbae-dong. thank you DJ Soulscape, and sorry for being so loud. damn. we had to borrow a drum set. Hukky had to learn to play that drum set. Ejae had to buy a bass amp. Sukhoon had to buy pedals. with military money. off of eBay. during corona. Hukky borrowed a shitty tape machine with broken channels from dj dream dog. thanks triple d. and we bought 1/4" tapes off of eBay. we had an old sennheiser md 421 without an adapter. Korea didn't have the adapter. we had to get that off eBay too. during corona. damn. and we had to get the Hammond organ fixed! Ejae played that organ. Hukky recorded, mixed, and mastered, everything. and played drums. During Corona. 24 songs in 3 months.
