레전드 걸그룹 카라가 15주년을 맞아 [15th Anniversary Special Album ‘MOVE AGAIN’을 발표하며 전격 컴백했다.
카라는 지난 2015년 5월 발표한 미니 7집 ‘인 러브(In Love)’ 이후 7년 만의 컴백으로, 이번 컴백은 데뷔 15주년을 맞아 박규리, 한승연, 허영지는 물론, 니콜, 강지영까지 합류한 완전체라 더욱 의미가 깊다.
앨범명 ‘MOVE AGAIN’은 기다려 온 팬들에게 무대 위 카라의 모습(MOVE)을 다시 멋지게 보여주고 싶다는 의미를 담고 있으며, 오랜 시간 한결 같은 마음으로 사랑과 응원을 보내준 팬들에게 감사한 마음을 가득 담았다.
특히 이번 앨범은 RBW와 카라 멤버 전원이 프로듀싱에 참여해 앨범의 완성도를 높혔다.
타이틀곡 “WHEN I MOVE” 는 밀레니얼 스타일의 편곡으로 후반부터 강렬한 리듬과 카라의 파워풀한 보컬이 특색을 만드는 곡으로, 한국어 가사는 멤버들이 직접 참여하였고, 일부 작곡에도 참여하여 곡의 완성도를 높혔다.
수록곡 “Shout It Out”은 히트곡 메이커 Steven Lee와 영국 프로듀서 Joe Lawrence, 캐나다 싱어송라이터 Laurell Barker이 의기투합하며 만든 곡으로, 리드미컬한 베이스 사운드가 매력적인 딥하우스 장르의 팝 댄스곡이다. 기존 카라의 음악적 색이 가장 많이 묻어나는 곡으로, 카라가 선사했던 밝고 희망찬 에너지를 가득 담아 매일 축제와 같은 무대를 이어 나가겠다는 이야기를 담고 있다.
더불어 카라 멤버들이 직접 작사에 참여해 팬들에 대한 진심 어린 마음을 담은 “Happy Hour”는 청량한 밴드 사운드가 돋보이는 곡으로, 경쾌하면서도 따뜻한 곡 분위기와 팬들에게 전하는 카라의 메세지가 더해져 진한 여운과 감동을 선사한다.
마지막 트랙의 “Oxygen”은 이제 내게 없어서는 안 될 소중한 이에 대한 감정을 산소(Oxygen)에 비유한 노랫말로 불러낸 곡이다. 카라 5인의 각자의 색이 잘 드러난 보컬을 뒷받침하는 어쿠스틱 기타의 영롱한 프레이즈가 팝 적인 감성을 느껴지게 한다.
