○ 세계 일류 가극장에서 연말연초의 들뜬 분위기에 가장 어울리는 오페라로 인정받는 작품이 <박쥐>일 것이다. 친구 아이젠쉬타인에 의해 망신을 당했던 팔케 박사가 그 빚을 갚고자 무료한 세상사에 지친 돈많은 귀족 오를로프스키 공작의 파티에 아이젠쉬타인 및 그와 관련있는 사람들(아내 로잘린데, 하녀 아델레, 변호인 블린트, 간수장 프랑크 등)을 서로 모르게 가명으로 초대하여 일이 잔뜩 꼬이게 만들지만, 교도소에서 모든 것이 밝혀져 유쾌하게 끝을 맺는다는 희극이다. ○ 이 오페레타는 ‘빈 왈츠의 왕’ 요한 쉬트라우스 2세가 1874년 완성했다. 파리 오페레타의 원조 자크 오펜바흐의 권유로 작곡했는데 자신의 장기를 살려 왈츠, 폴카 등 당시 빈을 휩쓸던 다양한 무곡의 향연을 펼친다. 가벼운 오페레타지만 날카로운 풍자와 세련된 오케스트레이션, 조역들(아델레, 알프레드, 프로쉬...)조차 역할을 100% 다하는 완벽한 코메디 구조를 갖추고 있다. ○ <박쥐>의 영상물로는 이미 코벤트 가든 로열 오페라 하우스의 1984년 실황(플라시도 도밍고 지휘)과 1990년 실황(리처드 보닝 지휘), 바이에른 슈타츠오퍼의 1987년 실황(카를로스 클라이버 지휘), 2001년 잘츠부르크 페스티벌 실황(마르크 민코프스키 지휘) 등이 존재한다. 그러나 영국 글라인드본 페스티벌의 2003년 실황을 담은 이 영상물은 효과적인 무대 장치와 전반적인 참신성에서 전혀 밀리지 않는다. 특히 대사 부분을 영어로 진행하는 로열 오페라의 프로덕션과 달리 대사도 독일어로 처리하는 정통성까지 갖추었다. ○ 지휘를 맡은 블라디미르 유로프스키가 러시아 출신이라 빈의 분위기를 과연 잘 살릴지 의문을 가질 것이다. 그러나 유로프스키는 글라인드본 페스티벌의 예술감독이자 런던 필하모닉 오케스트라의 수석 객원 지휘자로 지명된 실력파이다. 또한 원작의 빈 스타일을 지키기 위해 단 한 장면을 제외하고는 관례적인 삭제를 배제하였다. |

We accept return(s) if :- you receive a product different from your order OR - you receive a defective product.
