에스엠엔터테인먼트(이하 SM)가 공연, 앨범, 전시를 한 번에 만날 수 있는 종합 콘텐츠 프로젝트 ‘SMTOWN 2022 : SMCU EXPRESS’(에스엠타운 2022: SMCU 익스프레스)를 시작한다. 이번 ‘SMTOWN 2022’ 프로젝트는 ‘SMCU EXPRESS’라는 콘셉트로, 이수만 총괄 프로듀서가 ‘메타버셜 오리진 스토리’로 새롭게 명명한 아티스트들의 세계관을 SMCU(SM Culture Universe)를 기반으로 확장, 이수만 프로듀서와 SM이 바라보는 메타버스에서의 미래 콘텐츠를 종합적으로 경험할 수 있도록 공연은 물론 사전에 앨범, 전시도 함께 선보인다. 오는 1월 1일 진행되는 ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2022 : SMCU EXPRESS@KWANGYA’는 2008년부터 세계 주요 도시에서 개최되어 다양한 기록을 세움은 물론, 2012년 가상 국가 선포식을 통해 SM의 초거대 가상국가 MUSIC NATION SMTOWN을 본격화했던 SMTOWN LIVE를 ‘KWANGYA’(광야)라는 가상의 공간에 모든 아티스트들이 모이는 'SMCU EXPRESS STATION'을 배경으로, SM이 추구하는 공연 콘텐츠를 집대성했다. 특히 이번 콘서트는 장기화된 코로나19로 인해 지친 전세계 팬들을 위로하고 희망을 전하고자 무료 공연으로 기획, 글로벌 음악팬들에게 큰 선물이 될 것으로 기대되며, 유튜브와 새롭게 런칭하는 Beyond LIVE 전용 글로벌 플랫폼, LG U+ 아이돌 라이브 앱/웹 등을 통해 전 세계 중계된다. 이에 앞서 12월 27일 발매되는 ‘2021 Winter SMTOWN : SMCU EXPRESS’는 SM이 2011년 이후 10년 만에 선보이는 SMTOWN 겨울 음반으로, 전 세계에서 활약하는 SM 소속 가수들이 참여해 팀별 곡은 물론, 어디에서도 볼 수 없었던 다채로운 멤버 조합도 만나볼 수 있으며, 금일(10일)부터 예약 구매가 가능하다. 또한 12월 30일 시작되는 미디어 콘텐츠 전시 ‘SMTOWN EXPERIENCE : PLAY@KWANGYA’는 SM 성수 신사옥 1층에 위치한 LED 전광판을 활용, 이번 프로젝트를 한눈에 확인할 수 있는 영상 콘텐츠가 재생되어 음악팬들의 흥미를 끌 전망이다. 한편, 10일 SMTOWN 공식 SNS 계정을 통해 공개된 ‘SMTOWN 2022 : SMCU EXPRESS’ 콘셉트 포스터에는 공연, 앨범, 전시를 모두 만날 수 있는 특별한 프로젝트의 시작을 알리는 아티스트 라인업이 담겨 있어 이목을 사로잡았다. |
